Sehgal Cricket Club win Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh Memorial Cricket

Batting first, Sehgal Cricket Club were bowled out for 146 in 19.4 overs through Dinesh’s 54 (46b, 5x4, 1x6). Yorks Ravindra CA hit back strongly through Subham 61 (46 b, 7x4, 1x6) but could not cross the line due to superb catching by their opponents to end at 136.

Sehgal Cricket Club defeated Yorks Ravindra Cricket Associates by 10 runs in the final of the Sahibzada Zorawar Singh & Sahibzada Fateh Singh Memorial floodlit T20 cricket tournament at the Sri Guru Teg Bahadur (SGTB) Khalsa College, Delhi University.

Batting first, Sehgal Cricket Club were bowled out for 146 in 19.4 overs through Dinesh’s 54 (46b, 5x4, 1x6), with Nishant Sandhu claiming 4/19. Yorks Ravindra CA hit back strongly through Subham 61 (46 b, 7x4, 1x6) but could not cross the line due to superb catching by their opponents to end at 136, Abhinav Sharma claimed three wickets for 34 runs.

The winners of the tournament, which has been going on for a decade now, earned a prize money of Rs 1.5 lakh while the runners-up got Rs 80,000.

Dinesh of Sehgal Cricket Club, and Nishant Sandhu received the Man-of-the-Match and Impact Player Awards respectively.

Vans Bedi won the Player-of-the-Tournament Award while Aditya Yadav won the Best Batsman Award, Mayank Bansal, the Best Bowler Award and Rocky Nagar, the Best Wicketkeeper of the Tournament Award.

Former India team manager Amrit Mathur, who has also served as CEO of Delhi Daredevils IPL team and was part of the 1996 Cricket World Cup Organising Committee, was the chief guest on the occasion. Sanjay Bhardwaj, former Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Director and ex-Ranji Trophy player was the guest of honour.  Celebrated commentator Dr Ravi Chaturvedi was also present on the occasion.
